Choose a useful selection

Open a page you want to read and choose one unfamiliar word that matters to the sentence. A focused selection is easier to verify and gives the saved item useful context.

Request the translation

Select the word: Drag across the word in the page text; avoid selecting browser controls or editable content. Use Stickly’s action: Invoke the translate action that appears for the selection. Read the bubble: Check the translation, pronunciation, and surrounding sentence before saving.

Save with a reason

Save the word when it blocked understanding, is likely to recur, or is useful for something you want to say. Stickly stores the vocabulary in the shared account so the webapp and extension can use it.

Prefer a word with a clear sense in this sentence. Do not save every unfamiliar token by default. Use Remove word later if the result is not useful.

What happens next

The word appears in Word Hub, where you can search, edit, hear, and review it. If it appears on a later page, Stickly may highlight it; due words can open an inline typing quiz.
